Madison NORMLMadison NORML is the Madison, Wisconsin affiliate of the U.S. National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) and was founded in August 2004. Since its founding in 1970, U.S. NORML has provided a voice in the public policy debate for those Americans who oppose marijuana prohibition and favor an end to the practice of arresting marijuana smokers.
To uphold Madison's long-standing community standard that the use of cannabis is not a criminal matter. To show compassion towards our seniors, disabled, and seriously ill; to support Wisconsin's farmers; and to ensure the personal freedom of responsible adults.

Harvest Fest |
This year's Madison NORML 38th Annual Harvest Festival
was held in Madison, Wisconsin,
last Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, October 3rd through the 5th, 2008! The event was attended by many and the weather was nearly
perfect for most days. Enjoy looking at the photos and we hope to see you at next year's event!!!
Madison NORML is dedicated to the reform of local, state, and national laws regarding personal, medical, and
agricultural cannabis. Madison NORML is geographically located at the seat of government for the State of Wisconsin and has a strong history of
campaigning for the rights of marijuana and medical marijuana users, locally and nationally. Local Madison activists enabled the passage of the historic
Ordinance 23.20 in 1977.
Madison NORML was founded on August 1, 2004 at 4:20pm by a group of Madisonians gathered on the University of Wisconsin-Madison Memorial Union Terrace. Madison NORML is both a political organization that advocates for cannabis law reform, as well as a social group that brings together members of our community, students, patients, people with disabilities, musicians, lawyers, executives, clerks, health care professionals, small business owners, and all sorts of other everyday people.
In addition to helping organize events like the annual Great Midwest Marijuana Harvest Festival every year in early October, Madison NORML also hold events year round, by itself and with other groups. Past events include medical marijuana benefits, a medical cannabis lobby day at the State Capitol, hosting speakers, and, of course, our bi-monthlly meetings.
We encourage you to get involved: to learn all of the facts, laws, and issues pertaining to marijuana and medical marijuana; and take action. The internet provides a wealth of tools for taking action: learning about the issues through numerous web resources, sharing information with others through email and message boards, contacting government representatives, making online donations, signing up for email alerts / lists, and subscribing to news feeds to keep current on the issues, joining networks of like-minded and concernced citizens, etc.
You can also donate money to National NORML or to the local chapter of Madison NORML. Local funds are used for legal expenses for select local criminal cases, expenses to setup and advertise events, and some expenses for chapter representatives to travel to regional and national meetings.
We meet the second and fourth Monday of each month, except holidays, at 7:00 p.m. at
Escape Java Joint and Art Gallery, 916
Williamson Street (at Paterson Street intersection) on Madison's East Side. (Map to Escape Java)
We educate each other, learn about national and local issues, plan local events, and develop strategies for influencing local,
regional, and national lawmakers. Our next meeting will be on Monday, Novrmber 10, 2008. PLEASE JOIN US!!!
